Giving Sarah Palin a crayon makeover!
That’s the idea behind Going Rouge: The Sarah Palin Rogue Coloring & Activity Book, a 48-page tribute to all things Palin. But husband and wife team Michael Stinson and Julie Sigwart assure us that this is “not your momma’s coloring book.”
“It’s a great satirical vehicle to lampoon this woman with!” Stinson tells HollywoodLife.com. “It’s the soft underbelly of Sarah Palin.”
Sigwart served as illustrator (she has an extensive background producing political cartoons for various newspapers), while husband Stinson handled most of the jokes. And these jokes include everything from a “Trojan Moose” metaphor to a paper doll set-up on the back cover.
“We like to say: Those other books, they’re just a bunch of words,” Stinson tells us. “We got pictures!”
And the response has been overwhelmingly positive! Not only is Going Rouge on multiple best-selling lists, but it’s even being packaged and sold with Palin’s book, Going Rogue, on Amazon. Stinson and Sigwart appreciate the irony.
And speaking of irony: “We let our four-year-old test out the mazes in the book,” Sigwart tell us, “but he keeps getting frustrated. He can’t seem to get Sarah Palin to make it to the White House.”
