Exclusive! Did Donny Osmond Have an Unfair Advantage over His DWTS Competition?
Tsk, tsk — Donny, Say It ‘Aint So! You Sneaked In Some Extra Practice?
Sources tell HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Donny “The Donster” Osmond received just a tad more training than his competitors on Dancing With The Stars: he had a private dance coach before the competition even started!
Donny — who will find out if he, Mya or Kelly Osbourne wins the mirror ball trophy on tonight’s finale — “hired and practiced with an instructor for several months” before season nine kicked off, says our insider.
But a source at the show tells us, ”The only dance instruction he received in advance of the season was in preparation for his Vegas show.”
Apparently Donny was inspired to join the cast when he saw younger sis’ Marie Osmond compete on the show four seasons ago.
But Donny isn’t the only star who had one leg up on the competition — some of the fellow dancers considered Mya to be their biggest threat because of her background as a pop singer.
While she may have earned two perfect scores Monday night for her paso doble and megamix challenge, Donny definitely gave Mya a run for her money. After nailing the samba, the audience (including Marie) jumped to its feet as he hugged partner Kym Johnson and screamed “Yeah!”
He also hit a high note with his freestyle and capped off the night with a perfect score of his own.
A rep for the show had no comment, but seems like all that extra practice paid off!

Donny had the biggest fan base – plain and simple. Better dancer….probably not but his fans pulled him through although he’s not a bad dancer either.

I thought Mya should have won. But I know the Mormans would be looking out for little Donny. Hope this is the end of the Osmonds. I really can’t stand them. Never did!

Money had nothing to do with who won. Mya may of been more polished as a dancer, but OVIOUSLY she did not have the fans votes for the win, and DONNY DID..
Nicolas440 – Sorry the person you wanted to win did not but the sour grapes are silly.. IF mya won is it gonna effect your life at all??
Do not watch next season who cares.

I’m sorry but this comment is pure BS. Osmond had what is probably the largest Demographic that watches this show, older women. I know My mother voted for him weekly.
Should Mya have Won, probably. She definetly was the best out there. And as far as a “pick”, she obviously as the judges choice, so another point gone.
What is boils down to is who is your favorite, wether they are good or not, and if your favorite has the biggest following. I’m sure this is the case of what happened here.
I really didn’t give a crap what happened in the finale, either of the 3 would have made me happy, but all in all I’m glad Donnie won, he was by far the most entertaining.
And if you don’t watch the show next season because your celeb didn’t win, well, I feel bad for you. Goodluck and Enjoy whatever you move on to.

I just saw the finale of Dancing with the Stars and I cant believe Osmond won. What a bummer, Mya can dance circles around Donnie Osmond, but I think its the old saying “money talks”, and Im sure Osmond paid his way to the top. Mya got robbed, she had consistantly higher scores than Osmond did, and she never once forgot her steps the way Osmond did.
I sure wont be watching it next season, Ive seen the last 7 seasons, and Ive seen how they ” pick ” the winners.
To me Mya is the winner, she’s a real good dancer, and the way I scored the finale was Mya, in first place, Kelly Osborne second, and Donnie Osmond last.
Osmond clearly cheated, and even with coaching he still cant dance, he’s as stiff as a board and should have gone home by week number 5 /
