Forget catfights … Vicki confides to Life & Style magazine that she’s endured some far worse drama off-screen, and that her first marriage left her emotionally scarred.
“[My first husband] was an alcoholic. He abused me verbally,” she tells the magazine. “I looked at my dad and said, ‘I’m miserable. I don’t know what he’s going to be like when he gets home from work or what he’s doing. I’m scared every day.’”
Married at 21 and pregnant with their second child at the age of 23, Vicki remembers that her ex almost hit her — and though he never actually made physical contact, she was terrified.
After eight years of marriage that Vicki describes as “a hard life” filled with screaming and emotional pain, she finally left her alcoholic husband and established a new life. She’s now the happy, catty Housewife you see on the small screen: one who moved to California and in a happy marriage to her second husband, Donn.
“He’s been [my kids’] role model,” she says. And while marriage to Donn hasn’t always been roses, she does say, “We just celebrated 15 years of life together. Right now we’re both really happy.”
According to Life & Style, Vicki’s ex, who isn’t named, denied the allegations. “I had bouts with alcohol, but it was not a problem,” he says, and denies abusing her emotionally or physically.
