Hey Leighton — We Bet Chuck Bass Would “Come Home” for Your Xmas Tune!

112409_leightoncd

She’s at it again — after releasing two club-hopper singles, Leighton Meester is now trying to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

The Gossip Girl star is following in the foosteps of Mariah Carey and U2 to cover the yuletide favorite “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” Have an extra dollar lying around — and want to hear this X-mas classic one more time? You can download it on iTunes as part of  the special collection A Very Special Christmas 7.

Leighton’s GG character, chic Upper East Sider Blair Waldorf, will probably approve of her latest tune. It’s simple, straightforward and doesn’t try to reinvent the holiday classic.

In other words, it’s different from her poppy, uber energetic sounds of “Somebody to Love” with R&B crooner Robin Thicke or “Good Girls Go Bad” with Cobra Starship.

Hear Leighton’s rendition of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” below and tell us what you think! Do you like it, or would you rather have a different present under your tree?
