Tiger’s Personal Statement: “It’s All My Fault” Denies “Malicious Rumors!” Do You Believe Him?
Come on, Tiger — tell us what we really want to know!
He may have refused to speak with Florida Highway Patrol officers (three times!), but Tiger Woods has finally released his first official statement regarding his Nov. 27 car accident — and it’s a little disappointing, to be honest. Though he addresses the accident, his wife Elin Nordegren and the rumors about his alleged other woman Rachel Uchitel, the whole thing is pretty vague and diplomatic. ”This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me,” he says in the statement. “I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again. … The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.”
“This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way,” he continues. “Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible. This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.”
There you have it — Tiger’s first words on the growing controversy. Of course we were hoping for more, but it’s pretty much what you can expect from a personal statement. Can’t wait to see what unfolds!

i take anything tiger says at face value, he’s a great sportsmen and philanthropist. everyone makes a mistake every once in a while, but there’s no way i believe he’s cheating on his wife of so long all of a sudden.
