Lily Cole on “Parnassus” Co-Star Heath Ledger — “One in a Billion!”
Look out for actress Lily Cole, because she is hitting the scene big! As the star of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Lily plays Heath Ledger’s love interest. And she opened up to Marie Claire magazine about working with the actor on the last film he made before his death.
“We’d done three months’ work on Parnassus [before Heath passed]. He was an incredible man — kind, generous, talented. One in a million for sure — one in a billion, really. We shot one scene … two nights on Blackfriars Bridge in London, with the rain machine pouring down. It was so cold and miserable, yet such an amazing situation — to be in my own town, on that bridge, with Heath.”
She also talked about Colin Farrell, one of the actors who filled for Heath to finish the film. ”Colin is funny and has a great heart. It was wierd for me, but it felt right to continue filming with a man who was also having a hard time with his friend’s death.”
Lily even has a scandal under her belt! ”It was a scandal when I did French Playboy in 2008, though I was never actually nude … I think it’s really funny that I’ll have a cover of Playboy to show my grandkids.”
