19-year-old Taylor Swift got herself a brand new sexed-up look. The singing sensation was spotted going out to dinner in NYC on Dec. 9th with a pin-straight set of newly platinum tresses. A huge leap from her signature curly locks. “I think its phenomenal, it makes her look so different and that’s the beauty of hair,” says Sam Brocato, owner of the Sam Brocato salon in NYC.
How to get Taylor’s look yourself:
- Ask your stylist for “long, shattered and scattered layers and deep set bangs that really reach back into the hairline,” Sam says. To style, simply blow dry hair with a paddle brush and then flatiron it. Finish it off with a styling serum to lock in shine.
How to get her color:
- Go for a mix of golden and ashy highlights.
How to maintain your new look:
- “Her hair is very shiny and healthy looking. It’s so important to make sure the hair is balanced with protein and moisture – it’s critical for that kind of illumination,” Sam says. He recommends monthly overnight hair masks as well as super moisturizing shampoos and conditioners.
