Nick Jonas Says: I Want To Be Like Bruce Springsteen!
When it comes to inspiration, Nick knows who’s Boss!
Nick Jonas is gearing up to release new music from his solo side project, Nick Jonas & The Administration, and he recently sat down to talk with two surprise interviewers: his brothers, Joe and Kevin! The Jonai took over Radio Disney, in a segment that will air Dec. 12 and 13, and Nick revealed the inspiration behind his new group’s style: “I’m kind of modeling it after Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band,” he says.
“It’s kind of the look we were going for stylistically on the album cover and just the project in general,” Nick says. “He [Springsteen] pours so much passion and emotion into all of his songs every night, and I hope I can capture that too.”
Nick says part of that new style involves writing from personal experiences. He points to his band’s first upcoming single, “Who I Am,” as the best example of that. “In the verses where it sounds like I may be talking about losing a relationship or a girl … I’m actually talking about myself and … saying, ‘Look there’s a disconnect. What happened? I’ve changed.’” he says. “I want someone to love me for Who I Am.’”
And it’s no surprise that Joe and Kevin are Nick’s two biggest supporters! “I’m going to come to a show,” Joe tells Nick in the interview. “Or eight of them.” And oldest bro Kevin says, “I’m going to make a homemade t-shirt that says ‘Nick Jonas Be My Brother!’”
But don’t think Nick’s new band will slow down the Jonas Brothers! Their hit Disney Channel series JONAS goes back into production this February, and another world tour for next summer is already in the works!
