Sources tell HollywoodLife.com Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are really and truly split — and that the parting was “amicable.”
An LA source close to Reese confirms to HollywoodLife.com that the two-and-a-half-year romance between Reese, 33, and Jake, 29, is definitively over. But we’re told that the now ex-couple ended on good terms.
As Us Weekly reported in its Dec. 28. issue, the biggest issue for Reese was that Jake was taking time away from her children. “She felt pressured to wed again — but she wasn’t ready,” says Us’ source. “She couldnt’ give Jake enough, and she got cold feet. From the beginning, Jake wanted all of her, and she knew he deserved someone who could give him that.”
Yesterday, Rob Shuter of AOL PopEater reported that the pair had split: “The relationship was at the point where they either got engaged or broke up,” a friend of Jake’s told PopEater. “There is no doubt that they love each other very much, but Reese wasn’t ready to say ‘I do.’ And if she wasn’t ready after two years of dating, Jake wondered if she ever would be.
