Exclusive: A Visibly Upset Brittany Murphy’s Husband Mourns Inside Their Home — And Strangely Opposes An Autopsy

A source tells us Simon Monjack was holed up inside the couple’s home crying and shaking his head.
Just a few hours after his wife was pronounced dead, Brittany Murphy‘s husband, Simon Monjack, was spotted returning from the hospital in his car, then later frantically pacing back and forth inside the home, a source at the scene reveals exclusively to HollywoodLife.com. At one point, he also appeared to be screaming into a phone.
While he was understandably upset, what’s really odd is the fact that he reportedly didn’t want an autopsy performed on his 32-year-old wife — a test that could answer why she died at such a young age!
According to TMZ, Simon told the staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center he didn’t want an autopsy, but the L.A. Country Coroner’s office plans to perform one on the actress — who went into cardiac arrest Dec. 20 — despite his request.
In addition to Simon, our source says a bodyguard, a few family members, and the county coroner, who arrived around 3 p.m., were also at the West Hollywood home.
