Michelle Obama, You Were Right There With The President Addressing The Nation — And You Were So Inspiring!
She tells us how we can help our troops and our nation!
Michelle Obama joined President Obama for the first time Dec. 24 on his weekly address to the nation, extending her warmest wishes and extreme gratitude to our troops fighting overseas. But she also told all of us how we can help out and get involved from home. “If you live near a military base, you can reach out through your workplaces, your schools, your churches,” Michelle said in her address. “There are so many ways to help — with child care, with errands, or by just bringing over a home-cooked meal.”
Thanks for the tips, Michelle! A lot of people want to help out, especially around the holiday season, but not everyone knows how to go about doing it. You’ve surely pointed countless listeners in the right direction, and hearing about your experiences with military families made it all the more special.
“I’ve met kids who wonder when mom or dad is coming home; grandparents and relatives who step in to care for our wounded warriors,” Michelle continued, “and folks trying to carry on after losing the person they love most in the world.”
Being the first lady is no easy task — but Michelle, you’re really stepping up to the challenge! While we love your incredible fashion sense, we love your commitment to serving our country even more.
