Are you ready to see a movie made about Tiger’s life?
If you’re waiting with bated breath for someone to come out and say they’re producing/directing/writing Tiger Woods’ personal drama into a Hollywood script, director Todd Phillips just may be the man for the job!
Todd — who’s known for comedies like Old School and Starsky and Hutch — says he’s ready to branch out in dramas, and a Tiger Woods biopic might be the perfect crossover project.
“If I were going to do Tiger’s movie, [I would do it as] a drama,” the director dished to HollywoodLife.com exclusively Dec. 10 at The Hangover DVD launch party in Las Vegas. “It would be like The Blind Side.”
Even when he’s trying to be serious, Todd can’t help but be sarcastic. When we pushed him for the deetz on his hypothetical project, he told us what he thinks audiences will be saying after seeing Tiger’s life on the big screen. “Yeah, people would be leaving saying, ‘That was a great movie, the one with the golfer in it,’” he joked.
If Todd does create a movie about Tiger, you can expect it to be sympathetic. “Tiger’s going through a tough time,” the director explained, switching to a more serious tone. When we pointed out Tiger got himself into this mess, he agreed. “Yeah, I guess you’re right, but I don’t know much about it to be honest,” he admitted.
Todd says he hasn’t given thought to who would play Tiger onscreen. Who do you think Todd should cast as his leading man?
