Say It Ain’t So, Tyra Banks! We Can’t Believe You’re Really Ending Your Talk Show After Five Years!
Are you going to miss having Tyra on five days a week?
This is a total bummer! Tyra Banks ,36,announced today that she’ll be pulling the plug on “The Tyra Show” after five crazy seasons. ”This will be the last season of The Tyra Show,” Tyra tells People. “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years.” A source tells the magazine that Tyra will be shifting her focus to the launch of her NYC-based Bankable Studios, which aims to promote “positive images of women [on] the big screen.” Hmm… quitting her show to focus on a pet project? Sounds like she’s following in Oprah‘s footsteps once again!
Last month, Oprah announced the end of her own legendary talk show, choosing instead to focus on the launch of her cable channel OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network. Maybe Tyra was inspired by Lady O’s move!
“There’s a lot cooking right now and a lot of fire burning in my heart,” Tyra writes in a letter on her official Web site. “And I salute you my amazing family of viewers; without you there never would have been a ‘Tyra Show.’ I really love you all.”
