Exclusive Spoiler Alert! Kim Raver Dishes On the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Cristina/Owen/Teddy Love Triangle
Sorry, Owen and Cristina fans—we’re about to break some bad relationship news …
Between the hospital merger, Chief of Surgery Richard Webber relapsing and Izzie Stevens getting cancer and disappearing, Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital has been through hell and back in the last year. Amidst all of theses crises, Dr. Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Dr. Owen Hunt‘s (Kevin McKidd) relationship has been the calm in the storm … but a figurative tornado is about to upset even their rock solid love affair.
Enter Kim Raver’s Dr. Teddy Altman, the new cardiothoracic surgeon at Seattle Grace, who has a ‘special bond’—and undeniable chemistry—with Owen, a renowned trauma surgeon. At the same time, Cristina has started to let down her guard with Teddy and their friendship has begun to blossom. In essence, this threesome is about to become one hot mess.
“They’ve definitely created a friendship [between Teddy and Cristina], but it gets tricky,” Kim told Hollywoodlife.com exclusively at Audi’s pre-Golden Globes party Jan. 10 in Hollywood. “What’s going to happen, now? How are they going to function at Seattle Grace as a threesome, you know?”
Read: they can’t.
“Teddy really respects Cristina,” Kim explains. “But she really likes Owen.”
After the most intense, post-traumatic stress disorder-ridden relationship build-up of all time, it looks like self-proclaimed “soulmates” Cristina and Owen are headed for Splitsville … all because of Teddy. Sob!
Try not to hate the messenger, though. Kim, 40, is a long-time fan of the show and is quick to admit she’s the last person who wants to see Cristina and Owen broken up. She assures us, “I know, I feel the same way [about breaking them up]!”
