Maybe it’s because he’s the safe (translation: not funny) choice, but the world’s most-hated late-night TV show host Jay Leno has been given the plum, high-profile spot of hosting the White House Correspondents Dinner!
Jay Leno, the man who kicked Conan O’Brien out of the Tonight Show host gig, has also just nabbed one of the highest-profile stand-up gigs in the universe — he’ll be the featured entertainment at the White House Correspondents Dinner in May. Jay will be on the dais at the Washington Hilton with President Obama, his wife Michelle, many politicians, and a whole slew of celebs and journalists. And it’s not the first time he’s headlined the dinner — he did it in 1987, 2000, and 2004.
Just in case this seems very coincidental timing, it’s not — Jay was offered the spot weeks ago, before the whole late-night nuclear war went down.
