Vampire for a day — Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester might trade shows with real life BFF Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev
How do you think the quintessential Upper East Sider, Gossip Girl‘s Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), would fair with the southern belle, Vampire Diaries‘ Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) in a town full of vampires? Start imagining — this is one cross-over that might just happen.
“Oh my god, I would love to be on Gossip Girl,” Nina, 21, told E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos. “I feel like it’s hard to do because we’re both so busy. But I would love to, and I would for her to be on our show. Leighton would make a great vampire, I think!”
Playing a vamp couldn’t be that much of a stretch for Leighton, 23 … her character on Gossip Girl, the Queen B, is always out for blood.
Plus, shooting would be a blast for Leighton and Nina, who are real life friends after shooting their upcoming comedy The Roommate last summer.
There’s only one hitch in the giddy-up: Gossip Girl shoots in New York and Vampire Diaries is in Georgia. “The trick is tearing Nina away from Atlanta,” Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl executive producer Bob Levy explained. “She’s in almost every scene of every episode. So it’s hard scheduling-wise to work that out. But I love that pitch! We’re going to make it happen.”
