The LA County Coroner just issued its report on the death of Brittany Murphy, and their conclusion was that it was accidental death caused by pneumonia, anemia, and multiple drug intoxication.
The LA County Coroner has issued its report on Brittany Murphy‘s cause of death: Accidental death caused by “community acquired pneumonia,” iron deficiency anemia, and “multiple drug intoxication.” But the big thing to point out is the coroner is saying Brittany’s condition prior to her death was ‘treatable.’
Brittany, 32, was known to suffer from severe anemia and other conditions. She had been treated by doctors for these medical issues, but the last time she went to the doctor was months before her death. The pathologist who is in charge of Brittany’s case is trying to track down the doctors who were treating Brittany to better understand what went wrong as well as what medications were prescribed to her. When Brittany was first found dead in her LA home on Dec. 20 several pill bottles and medications were found all over the house under her husband Simon Monjack’s name, her mother Sharon Murphy, along with Brittany’s own prescriptions.
TMZ is reporting that sources close to the autopsy say Brittany’s death was “preventable.” Multiple drugs were found in Brittany’s system: prescription drugs for menstrual cramps, over the counter cough syrup along with others. Brittany is most known for her roles in films like Clueless, Uptown Girls, Just Married, and Girl Interrupted.
