Sure, it was a little awkward when Jessica Simpson’s dad, Joe Simpson, crashed a party hosted by Jess’ ex husband Nick Lachey — but Nick’s on-again lady Vanessa Minnillo didn’t let it bother her!

Vanessa and Nick were together all weeekend, hitting all the Super Bowl events and parties, and on Saturday night, Vanessa brought her dad, Vince, out with her man. They whole crew — Vanessa, Nick, Vince, and a slew of their friends — went to the Maxim party at the Raleigh hotel Saturday night, and hung out in one of the cabanas. And when HollywoodLife.com saw Vanessa, and she was all smiles, laughing and chatting with friends.

Later the group — with Vanessa’s dad still in tow! — went to the penthouse at Hotel 944 @ Eden Roc and were taking shots and having a great time.  We know there was some tension between Joe and Nick, especially towards the end of his marriage to Jess, but it doesn’t seem to a problem in his relationship with Vanessa.
