It’s officially over for Rihanna and L.A. Dodgers star Matt Kemp’s short-lived month-long romance – but why is Matt, 25, acting as if their relationship was completely platonic?
“[Rihanna] is just a friend, a good friend of mine,” the athlete said in an interview on his team’s website Feb. 10. He added, “I can’t get distracted by that. When it’s time to play baseball, that’s my job. No distractions.”
It sounds like the glaring spotlight on his high-profile relationship was just a wee bit too bright. “I’m not used to that much attention to my personal life,” he confessed. “It’s really not that big a deal. But in LA, doing things here, you’re under a microscope.”
As for Rihanna, 21, at least she’s honest when it comes to her romantic status. Said the songbird of her brief fling – which kickstarted in Dubai over New Years and ended with a hot and steamy weekend in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – “I’m single.”
No explanations, no bullshit, no lies. Just the way we like it.

Rihanna should have stayed single. That relationship was bogus with Matt. That athlete just wanted to hit it.
Reguardless, of her previous relationship, she had someone who really loved her. Although it ended, because of its
abusive in nature. I still think she was the abusive one. She should waited. I was surprised seeing her with that guy grabbing her butt for dear life. It seems she was trying to prove something to someone watching.
