Jamie Kennedy and Jennifer Love Hewitt have been keeping those fires a-burnin’ for nearly a year, and now they’re finally ready for the next big step in their relationship: marriage. And not just any marriage, either – the couple plans on eloping in Las Vegas!
“Jennifer and Jamie are definitely planning on getting married, but she wants to elope because she was so humiliated over her broken engagement. [to actor Ross McCall],” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively
We’d be a little gun-shy too if our bad break-up was made as public as Jennifer’s, when her then-fiancé called off the couple’s wedding in Jan. 2009, so it makes sense that she wants something a little more low key.
“[They] went to Vegas to look at chapels,” adds the source, who adds that while Jamie, 39, was in Sin City Jan. 30 to host a party at Tao in The Venetian Hotel and Casino, Jennifer, 30, and her mother, Patricia, joined him to do some early planning and location scouting.
While the funnyman had his heart set on a traditional white wedding in front of many friends and family, Jennifer put her foot down and decided she wanted the ceremony to remain small, intimate and away from potential prying eyes. “Jamie wants a big wedding, but she’s dead set on eloping and she dragged the poor guy from chapel to chapel,” sympathizes our source.
How’s that for role reversal? We know who wears the pants in this relationship – and it definitely isn’t Jamie!
