Joel Madden Compares Nicole Richie To The Crazy Lady From ‘Shutter Island!’

We know by now that Joel Madden considers himself to be quite the funny man when it comes to his tweets, but today he crossed into a really weird place. Joel tweeted Feb. 22 that he saw Leonardo DiCaprio‘s new psycho thriller flick over the weekend … and the most terrifying character reminded him of Nicole Richie!
“I went and saw Shutter Island,” Joel tweeted. “Oddly it reminded me of my relationship. I’m pretty sure Nicole pulled the same stuff on me. And here I am.” Um, we saw Shutter Island … so we know first hand that if we were Nicole we’d be totally peeved!
In the film, Leo’s character is married to Michelle Williams, who plays his depressed wife. And she goes completely insane and drowns their three young children in a lake! Oh yeah, and then Leo kills her.
Well, we know that Joel is joking … but come on! Nicole is the mother of Joel’s two little kids Harlow, 2, and Sparrow 5 mos. so it’s totally creepy — not to mention mean — to make that comparison! —Chloe Melas
