If you tune into The Secret Life of the American Teenager next season, you’ll see Bristol Palin making her acting debut … as herself!
Bristol Palin, the most famous teen mom in America, will play a friend of one of the series main characters. This fits in with Bristol’s new-found commitment to pre-marital abstinence since giving birth to son, Tripp, now 14 months. Bristol, 19, says she’s thrilled to be “part of a program that educates teens about the consequences of teen pregnancy”.
Bristol ought to know — she’s been been dealing with the consequences of her split from baby daddy Playgirl model, Levi Johnston, since the pair split just months after Tripp’s birth. She’s battling him to fork over $1,750 a month in back child support and he’s claimed “I have no problem paying more as long as …I get my son 50 per cent of the time. ” He alleges that Sarah Palin has taken extreme measures, including having him arrested , to prevent him from seeing Tripp.
Bristol will be shooting her spot in LA for the ABC Family drama focusing on issues surrounding teen pregnancy, and the episode will air next summer. Seems like with all the drama going on between her and Johnston, who claims he’s writing a tell-all book about the Palins, that the series could make a highly entertaining episode just out of her own life. So will you watch?

I have such mixed feelings about the show too. Is it showing teens the reality of unplanned pregnancy? Or glamorizing it?

She is no different than any other teenager that has done this. She did wrong, being on tv does not make it right. I thought she was taking care of that baby. Well maybe she is not on Mommie duty much after all. She is not a good role model for sure and um no, I would not watch or have my young ones look up to her, she blew it, you cant change the fact she got screwed and ended up with a baby, happens all the time. Nope, not a good role model at all.
