EXCLUSIVE! Tia Carrere Says Karina Smirnoff Left ‘DWTS’ Because Of Her Ex!
Hey, wouldn’t YOU hate having to go to work and face your ex-boyfriend every day?
Yeah, we would too.
When Dancing With the Stars return next season, it’s going to have a very different feel now that it’s lost one of it’s key players, Karina Smirnoff. But why would the dancer leave such a sweet gig? Season 2 contestant Tia Carrere thinks she knows the reason: Karina couldn’t bear working with her ex-fiance, Maksim Chmerkovskiy!
“She’s probably trying to get over Maksim.” Tia, 43, told Hollywoodlife.com exclusively at the “Get Lucky for Lupus” event in West Hollywood Feb. 25. She added, “Well, they were engaged and they broke up, so I don’t know, it’s what I’d do.”
Karina, 32, began dating fellow DWTS dancer Maksim, 30, in July 2008 and became engaged a quick six months later. At first, there was nothing but love between the two as Karina planned a gigantic fairytale wedding, but as things turned sour following their joint Broadway show, Burn the Floor, last summer, the couple ultimately split in September, 2009.
Poor Karina! Hell, it’s awkward enough to run into an ex if you see them walking down the street or bump into them with their new girlfriend, but to have to see them every single day at work. Horrific.
How would you feel if you had to see your ex in the office every day? Would you want to quit your job, too?

i used to like maks but how someimes he reacts to lens criticism is arrogant when he shows he is mad . he shows he disrespect the judge opinion…..he should respect the judge opinion and everyone else even if u dont agree.yeah maks should be out next time … i have seen him being mad many times before … no other pro has done that…..i think they should bring new talents to the show…there are a lot of talents there yet to be seen

Well…remedios racho….guess what?!! Maksim Chmerkovskiy is the “BEST” thing on Dancing With The Stars. Yes, he gets mad and emotional during rehearsals and that’s what makes the show so fun and makes him all the sexier! Real women like “TOUGH” men and Maks is all man. Karina needs to stop sleeping with everyone on the dance floor and get herself together. You notice who’s already in another serious relationship? KARINA!!! She’s not back because DWTS didn’t want Maks uncomfortable because he’s the best thing they’ve got going!

maks i think is the reason karina was not brought back b cause he is not a good sport….if things dont work out isnt it better to split now than get divorce later…i think maks is too himself .. vindictive and vicious ..i am sure karina is hurting too it takes 2 to tango.. they have to respect ur differences… look at simon …how good friends w/ his ex. it is really admirable and how failed relationships ought to be conducted .. a lesson to learn

I don’t think Karina quit . . . She was not scheduled for Season 10. But I’m glad the producers took the initiative. Her former titles are tarnishing badly in the face of her promiscuous and abusive use of men. Glad Maksim escaped her, even if she was his dream since high school.

Too bad Maks didn’t bow out this season, I’d much prefer Karina. She’s a way better dancer than he ever could be and he’s just way to into himself. Too bad about Karina, she’s great eye-candy.
BTW Tia, Karina’s got herself a hunky baseball player so I don’t think Maks got anything to do with it.

First of all….Karina is a GREAT dancer but she’s no way near better than MAKS! Great eye candy?? Do you really think she’s attractive?? Seriously?? She does have a great body and she’s very talented but she’s really unattractive. Not at all beautiful enough for Maksim. He’s the eye candy!
