EXCLUSIVE! Lady Gaga Inspired Jason Segel’s ‘Muppet Movie!’

Jason Segel is pulling out all the stops in his new version of The Muppet Movie” and he’s even drawn inspiration from Lady Gaga. So leave it to Hollywoodlife.com to bring you the latest details here!

Muppet fans all over are waiting for Jason Segel’s highly anticipated film The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made and we’ll have you know, his take is pretty awesome. Jason’s been hard at work on the script (which is being produced by The Proposal producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman) with co-writer Nicholas Stoller who also penned Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and be warned – you may not recognize your favorite Jim Henson characters when the How I Met Your Mother star is through with them!

Specifically, what will become of Kermit the Frog and his Rubin-esque lady love, Miss Piggy? Apparently, the piggy lady is going Gaga!

“Miss Piggy ends up becoming like a Lady Gaga-esque character living in Europe!” a movie insider tells HollywoodLife.com. This means that the oink-a-licious one doesn’t end up with her true love – at least when viewers catch up with the estranged couple, that is. “Kermit ends up being destitute and the main characters find him living in squalor,” adds our source.

The film finds a human couple and their muppet friend racing to get the old gang — all now retired entertainers — together for one last hurrah in order to save their old TV studio from an oil giant who wants to destroy it.

The movie (the first since 1999’s “Muppets In Space”) promises to educate a new generation of children, with their favorite characters including Fozzie, Animal, Swedish Chef and Gonzo.

Will we see the likes of some Hollywood heavyweights? You can count on it says our insider. “The producers plan to go out to a lot of big stars. It will be like a telethon theme, with stars joining in to save the studio too,” reports our insider.

Hmmm….somehow the name ‘Lady Gaga’ keeps reappearing in our thoughts. Will she cameo? What do you think?

I don”t know who this Rubin is, but I’m pretty sure the term for Piggy is “Rubensesque” after the painter Rubens, who liked big, voluptuous ladies and painted them often

The big bad oil guy thing was my idea, I never liked it to begin with. Wondering if he’ll thank all the people to whom he stole alot of ideas from?

Ahhh man…seriously “Oil Giant”? Can’t liberals give it a break for just one movie? It’s just a kid movie, the muppets… It could have simply been some random evil guy, but no, they gotta add the “big oil is evil, corporations are bad” theme to everything.
