Stephen Collins spent six years playing Jessica Biel‘s protective minister dad on 7th Heaven, but he’s not quite as protective of her in real life. When we caught up with him March 7 at the 20th Annual Night of 100 Stars Gala in Beverly Hills, he said he trusts Jess’s instincts… including her taste in boyfriend Justin Timberlake! “Jessie is, at heart, such a real person,” he told HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
“[Jess is] one of those people that is so beautiful and so talented that it’s disorienting,” he told us. “But she’s just such a regular person and I know that high on her list of things to do is to have a family.
And Jessica’s former “dad” couldn’t be more proud of all the success she’s had since her time on the hit WB series.
“I think she’s got her feet on the ground,” he said. “I’m quoting somebody else that just said this about her — a costar in her new movie — she’s just one role away from being the biggest thing in show business.”
