Was Vera’s Marchesa very chic or a ruffled mess?

When ruffles attack! Supporting actress nominee Vera Farmiga showed up ready to wow in a red Marchesa, complete with a sculpted cascade of ruffles, for the Oscars on March 7. When I first saw her come out, I couldn’t decide if it was wonderful or just too weird, (at first it looked like someone attacked her with Christmas ribbon), but then it started to grow on me. Either way, I give her credit for pulling off a big dress — it isn’t an easy task, but with her minimal accessories and loose up-’do she owned the look, although I still can’t figure out how she managed to sit down or use the ladies room! What do you think?
