What would you do to see the Sopranos movie get made?
As all Sopranos die-hards are well aware, each and every former cast member has agreed to make a Sopranos movie…except one very important person: Mr. Tony Soprano himself. Luckily, his co-star and former on-screen wife, Edie Falco, has hatched a brilliant plan to get James Gandolfini to jump on board, and shared her genius idea with HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
“There’s nothing that guy needs. There’s nothing he wants. I think he’s very happy,” Edie, 46, told us at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Evening with Nurse Jackie in North Hollywood March 15.
She added, “I got nothing to offer him except that if I could play Tony. He might do it if I played Tony and he played Carmela.”
Hear that, Mr. Gandolfini? The offer is out on the table — so put your best dress on, because your fans demand it!

…All these people going on about a movie spoiling the show etc, having to alter the original story etc…
They could set the movie BEFORE the events of the show, except for Paulie, Junior, Carmine, Johnny Sacks, and possibly, Phil Leotardo – the older guys – they wouldn’t need the rest of the cast of younger actors and actresses…
Personally, as long as it was done right, and was done in such a way as you could watch the movie, and then go directly back into the show and it FELT like history – I’d enjoy it.

look people, i would love to see a soprano movie be made however , i also love a story to continue where it left off. that being said tony soprano will be in the movie but for a very short time. it should start with him being transported to the hospital and the person who wanted him kill go and visit him in the hospital and finishing the job. for those who knows about the mob every boss will have to be “bumped off” and is against the “rules” not to wack the boss so, ts will have to die. sorry to burst your bubble people.

I BELIEVE THAT ANTONIO SOPRANO MIGHT HAVE BEEN KILLED IN SOPRANO’S FINAL EPISODE SEASON 6 PART 2 “LIVE BY THE GUN-DIE BY THE GUN” & DAVID CHASE HAS KEPT IT REAL, HE HAS NEVER SHOWN FAVORITISM TOWARDS ANY CHARACTER, DAVID CHASE IS A TRUE ARTIST OF LIFE. SO IF TONY HAD A KILLER WHO KILLED HIM? Tony Soprano would understand that he could not just go and whack one of the NY bosses and then go out and have dinner with his family unless he had the backing, the support of the other NY families…Open your text books people “Mafia Life” 101 . I’m watching the Soprano’s right now, seen every episode, have every episode more than likey it’s or uncle jr. had reason because his right hand man had his teeth kicked out of his mouth by Tony and he has even had words before that. Perhaps got Tony to drop his guards when he told Tony and then went in for the kill or maybe uncle jr was just playing crazy playing crazy remember when called him he said now’s not the time also from the look of the last episode, the last person that Tony visit is uncle jr who seems to be unaware of reality until Tony apply’s some pressure. At this point anyone with an open mind useing their noggin would be able to see that uncle jr (Dominic Chianese character) was very aware of what he has done to Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini char)

babyliston, in the final episode where Tony, Paulie, Butch & Carmine jnr have a sit down, Butch tells Tony he can do what he’s gotta do to kill Phil Leotardo. Carmine jnr agrees and says that he would get the backing from the other families because if you remember from earlier series he is realted to 2 of the other crime bosses. He could have very easily went out for dinner with his family with a clear head.

This is entertainment at tv’s best but! (it’s still art entertaining life) with that being said I alway’s felt that Tony Soprano could have killed in the last scene but there is alway’s a possibility that TS supposed killer could have been just a civilian, slim chance but! a possibility. There is also the possibility that the guy in member’s only jacket could of been an undercover agent who took down TS in a public place along with the two black guy’s who enter’d the restaurant they could of been undercover and a few other people dining might have been undercover as well crazy but possible. I believe that with the near flawless craftsmanship of artwork that David Chase deliver Tony Soprano should be dead. Even the Terminator get’s killed! and DC work immitates life! if…so, was it one of the NY families, probably not. Tony Soprano was a middle’d age season’d Costra Nostra veteteran, he was born into the life so more than likely it was an enemy he would not expect.

Yes there should be a movie why not its worked with Sex and the City. By far the best ever TV series ever released and yes as great as the ending was a lot was left up in the air.
And by the way I am truly the show’s biggest No 1 fan never mmissed an episode was shattrded when it finished. BTW I bet Ray Liota kicks himself every day for turning down the role of Tony Soprano.

Look, i totally want a Sopranos movie to come out just as much as the next guy. but i mean seriously James Gandolfini? you dont want to be stereotyped? I dont think thats a good enough reason. If everyone is back on board (including Tony Sirico, Edie Falco, Michael Imperioli, Dominick Chianese the list goes on and on)then what the heck, why not hop on too?

The main character is Tony Soprano, not Carmella. She plays a part but Tony carried the series. James Gandolfini is the best actor and he wouldn’t like to be stereotyped as a mob figure. He has far too much talent for that and he doesn’t seem to care about money like many others. Give him a break!

If edie falco is not in the movie, then it is not truly THE SOPRANOS. the other actors are great, but come on the movie wouldn’t be to any1′s satisfaction if the main character is missing.

A movie would be brilliant…..even if there was no Tony…..meaning the ideas are endless with the possibility of A.J. being pushed into the family as a soldier and being groomed from someone like Uncle Bobby, Paulie, or Sil. and possibly even Christopher, who could also be brought back because he did not really die, but it was a dream sequence rather or a vision Tony was having in his coma. Let’s not forget about the russian who also got away from Christopher and Paulie out there in the stix…..which we all know the russian mob is alot stronger these days….like I said the possibilities are endless.

they definately should make a movie and im told there are so many cut scenes that nobody has seen that they could do it very easily….and it doesnt matter who died on the show because you can always go back in time…..has anybody ever heard of star wars prequel…hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the tony was the idea that Tony was in a coma this whole time since he was shot by his uncle would be brilliant. Wake up and everyone in there. But, what had really gone on since he was in the coma and who was the acting boss. It would be great. There is so much the writers could do with this. Old character and new ones. Tony seeing things in a different light on and on……………..I think it should be more than a movie but start the series back up again.

tony is not dead.. the begaining of the movie would be that the song “don’t stop beliving” would be playing in the back ground. while the camera pan’s back and forth from machine to machine then pans to tony waking from a coma eyes wide open…

Bringing back the movie in style of Tony being in a coma all along is so weak. Tony is dead. I loved the ending, I would still love the Sopranos even if they did bring it back because David Chase would not do so unless it was perfect. But to do a dallas style storyline is so weak and David Chase over anyone knows that.

If anyone has ever seen James Gandolfini onstage and in movies, one would know what a fantastic actor he is. He is far too intelligent, genuine and talented to waste his gifts on one character only. I give him a lot of credit for diversifying his talents as an accomplished producer, actor, comedian, and musical abilities. He has proven himself over and over what a fine professional he is and to make a movie about a former character doesn’t match his multi-faceted career.

Chase will never do it – how would he explain to his intelligent audience that paid attention throughout the series how Tony comes back to life? A shower scene like Bobby in Dallas? Its all there people – Tony was hit in the restaraunt and to do a movie they would have to exclude the main character – then again I guess if the price is right integrity can be bought.

Tony was killed. It was spelled ouot in every reference to the number 3 throughout the last episode. He is dead. There will never be a movie and never be another series with the same (dead characters) unless they do a lame “dallas” comeback. What a cop out that would be. He was killed and if anyone needs to have all the “3″ oclock references made in the final epidoe, I will be gald to list each and every one.
