Kristen Stewart always manages to look stunning and girly on the red carpet — but her pretty dresses don’t stay on for long!

She wears them all the time for her red carpets and fancy parties, but the truth is, Kristen Stewart hates to wear a dress!

HollywoodLife.com was at the NYC premiere of The Runaways Mar. 17, where Kristen looked stunning in her strapless, silver, sequined mini-dress! But as soon as it was time to hit the afterparty at The Bowery Hotel Terrace, Kristen changed into her classic look: dark skinny jeans, a loose-fitting white T-shirt and her Converse sneakers!

At the party, we saw Kristen and Dakota huddled together on the terrace talking intently all night alongside rock ‘n’ roll legend Joan Jett.  And Joan was looking around protectively all night, making sure nobody came up to bother the actresses.  The only one allowed to approach them was actress Chloe Sevigny!

The party which was hosted by Tommy Hilfiger and Quintessentially was filled with music legends and celebs including Cherie Currie and Debbie Harry, fashion designers Zac Posen and Richie Rich, Liv Tyler‘s mom Bebe Buell, Zach Braff, Kirstie Alley, and model Alessandra Ambrosio, were also celebrating at the event.

And of course, remember — this isn’t the first time Kristen has done a quick change between the red carpet and the afterparty!  After Robert Pattinson‘s Mar. 1 Remember Me premiere, she slipped out of her stilettos and dress, and into jeans and — yep! — her classic converse.
