Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle tell us about the newest addition to the ‘Gossip Girl’ clan, and spill about Taylor Momsen & Penn Badgley’s music careers!
Lily Van Der Woodsen and Rufus Humphrey may be in the middle of a marital rift on Gossip Girl, but off screen Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle were closer than ever at the alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet shop opening at Saks New York on March 18. The duo told us that while the couple may be having problems on screen, we can expect a furry new addition to the Van Der Woodsen/Humphrey clan! “We’re getting a pet,” Kelly said. Matthew, who chimed in saying, “yes, a Saint Bernard,” was corrected by his on-screen wife. “Actually, it’s going to be two cats!” Can you imagine a clawing cat, or any furry, four-legged animal for that matter, loose in their luxurious apartment? I’m guessing Rufus is going to keep busy taking care of the new family pet!
Kelly, who plays Taylor Momsen‘s step-mom on screen, gushed about how talented the young starlet is! “She’s great!” Kelly said. “Sometimes she practices in the dressing room.” Aw, the pair seems to be close-knit off screen. “I tell her I want the first copy of her record after her mom.”
Who knew the Gossip Girl cast was so musically inclined? There’s Taylor, with her band, Leighton Meester‘s singing, Ed Westwick‘s band, and Matthew Settle, who is getting ready for his role in Chicago — but that’s not all! Apparently Penn Badgley, who has expressed his interest in music, is moving forward with her musical aspirations. “Penn is writing music now,” Kelly told us. Is it just me, or does it seem like there’s nothing the gorgeous GG clan can do?

First of all, *ahem* Penn Badgley is a dude. A gorgeous, manly dude with the sexiest voice ever.
Other than that – yes, they are ALL gifted; it’s borderline ridiculous! I love ‘em so much – they should totally try a musically themed episode soon :P
