Demi Moore’s constant tweeting may have actually saved a suicidal teen.

A lot of people rip on Demi Moore (and her husband Ashton Kutcher) for being Tweet-aholics. But on Mar. 19, it was a very good thing Demi was on her Twitter account and responding to her fans.

Demi was tweeting about Chelsey Lately and Harpers Bazaar when, all of a sudden, an 18-year-old Florida teen @ tweeted her, saying: “I’m going to send a live feed of myself hanging myself. No one cares if I die or not.” The heartfelt Demi responded, “Are you really asking me for help?”

Meanwhile, actress Nia Vardalos [My Big Fat Greek Wedding] witnessed the exchange and called a suicide prevention center in LA. The teen, who lives in Florida, was tracked down through the information Nia gave, and was contacted by local authorities, who saved him from taking his own life.

According to TMZ , when the police found the teen, he was ”sitting at his computer desk crying.” But, thank goodness, he was not harmed. Thanks for being a great role model, Demi!
