After months of hype, The Runaways is finally in theaters this weekend! It’s a limited release for now, but at least fans will finally get a chance to see Kristen Stewart ignite the screen as ’80s rocker Joan Jett. And it sounds like fans will have plenty to look forward too, as the critics are LOVING K-Stew’s performance:

i think that kirsten did a great job in the film! i kept forgetting that she was playing a role, dakota also did a great job in my opinion.

i think kristen is a dude…seriously look at her…this movie blue balls…it wasnt even a great band to begin with…

watched it at the austin premier and it was horrible…kristen is a horrible actress, no wonder she relies on others to get her roles…dakota does great, but overall a waste of my time.

I was very impressed with Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett;
I was a Runaways fan in the 1970s, I’ve been around a while; they were pioneers and opened the doors for females to do lots more than they’d been allowed to do up till then; EVERYONE should go see THE RUNAWAYS; luved it!!!

Wow, I just came from the movie. Watched The Runaways. What a movie. You should never will (or at least this week) watch any romantic comedy again. It is a waste of your brain cells.
The director of photography Benoit Debie in charge of the camera- his work is is a masterpiece! The close captures of let’s say dog’s poop. A high heel cracking the pill, Dakota’s character fainting in the elevator, the car (!!!) genius) that take them on the tour parked up the ramp, as if it was a warning ,a symbol of quick possibility of falling back. That film can be watch just to learn what professional cameras can do, pure art, .What a vision- close view into the eyes of the musicians. Art at the highest. The director Floria Sigismondi—deserves an Oscar. She does not exploit the girls. That famous for being famous kissing scene is nothing, done in shades, nothing to it. Believe me ,I was afraid for hard core heterosexual scenes with drugged musicians – that did not happened either .
e Americana just like westerns. Must see to believe.
