Why are men such fools? Could Reggie Bush really have given his girlfriend of more than two years the brush-off via text?

How low is THIS? We told you first that New Orleans Saints player Reggie Bush seemed to be stepping out on GF Kim Kardashian by flirting up a storm with various women at Robin Thicke ‘sbirthday party at 10AK in NYC March 17, but we can now report that Reggie had actually broken it off with Kim earlier that night – by text message!

“Reggie dumped Kim by text while she was in Miami,” a pal of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “He actually sent her three text messages that said he needed time and space and ‘it’s not you, it’s me’.”

What a cad Reggie, 25, is! Kim, 29, has always been there to support her man, from standing by his side while his team won Superbowl XLIV, even throwing him a private birthday party at her parents’ home in Calabasas, Calif. on March 2.

But not all hope is lost – the two are definitely still talking! “They’ve spoken a few times since the split, but she is NOT trying to get back together with him – at least not right now,” says our insider.

And if you’re worried about Kim – don’t. In addition to having a strong support system in sisters Kourtney, 30, and Khloe, 25, Kim is strong, confident, resilient and looking more beautiful than ever. “She’s OK!” the source reassures us. “She’s cool. It’s tragic, but she’ll move on!”

Good for you, Kim! At least you know that if a dude is callow enough to dump you by text message after more than two years together that he isn’t the right man for you. You can do so much better!
