Good news, BFFs! Stephenie’s vampire tales aren’t ending with Eclipse, after all!

While we’re totally bummed that Stephenie Meyer‘s next vampire book won’t be about Edward, Bella or Jacob, we’re still so excited she’s writing one! The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, Stephenie says on her official Web site, will tell the story of Bree, a new vampire that gets introduced in Eclipse. Her story is a nice complement to Eclipse,” Stephenie writes. “It explains a lot of the things that Bella never knew.” Sounds interesting! And here comes the best part — it’s free!

Yes, when the book is released June 5, Twi-hards will have the option of buying the book in stores at 12:01 a.m., or waiting until 6 a.m. and reading the novella online, free of charge. And you’re not the only ones getting a gift from Stephenie! “One dollar of each book purchased in the US from the first printing will be donated to the American Red Cross for their relief efforts in Haiti and Chile and other parts of the world where people are in great need,” the author says.

Wow, Stephenie! Offering the book for free and using it to raise money for charity are two great ideas! So there’s just one question, BFFs… will you peek at the story online for free, or do you NEED a hard copy for yourself? Let us know!
