Country music superstar Shania Twain, 44, is going to share her “life-altering heartbreak” with the world, in her new reality show Why Not? which will launch in January, 2011 on Oprah Winfrey’s new TV network, OWN.

When Shania’s husband of 14 years, Robert Lang, left her for  her best friend and personal assistant Marie-Anne Thiebud in May 2008, Shania admits she “was in a deep dark place.”

The “Your Still The One” singer told Oprah during an interview at the OWN upfront event at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York on Apr. 9, “I’m getting inspired again. I’m still not all the way there yet.”

Shania, who looked radiant and full of life, confessed to Oprah, “I feel like in a way I’m starting over, with everything. This is a very personal experience that I think is important to share. This is an experience of recovery. I was in a very deep, dark slump, and I needed to find a way to get myself out of it. I had to force myself back out into life, back out into experiencing things.”

Shania’s show will be called Why Not? “because people would ask me to do things, and if I couldn’t come up with three good reasons as to Why Not,” she says, “then I would go for it.”

While Shania continues the process of moving on, viewers can “Follow her as she begins her climb back to the top, a personal journey filled with risk, revelations and unexpected adventures,” according to a press release from NOW.  What do you think?
