Female sports reporters are blasting Erin saying she’s making a “fool out of herself” for going on DWTS. Do you agree?
Even though she is scoring pretty well, ESPN reporter Erin Andrews is being slammed for appearing on hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars! On Apr. 8, Toronto Star Op-Ed columnist Rosie DiManno dedicated an entire column to publicly bashing the blonde sports reporter.
“[Erin] made a fool out of herself and a sham of her profession,” says Rosie. “I want to grab [her] by the shoulders and shout: ‘What are you thinking, woman?!’” Rosie, who, as a female journalist herself seems to take personal offense to Erin’s new gig, adds that the dancing gal is damaging her career. “I’m appalled by the damage she’s doing to her profession and her own reputation as a journalist,” says Rosie.
Erin responded to the harsh comments on SportsIllustrated.com, saying, “I’m not sure what damage I created for myself,” she says. “What am I doing to be a bimbo? I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong.”
“I’m basically killing myself to not embarrass myself,” says Erin. “I’ve been in the top three in scoring each week, behind an athlete and a professional dancer and singer.”

Who cares about Rosie’s oppinion. I am a woman of certain age & I’m happy to see Erin on the show. It’s a great opportunity for her to widen her viewership. Rosie is an old ugly jealous racist hag. Keep on doing you Erin and ignore the haters. All these people are really jealous of you.

the author of that toronto article is the type of woman that is dangerous to women’s rights, frankly. erin is doing nothing degrading to women or herself. she should be allowed to be charming, pretty, and feminine- and still do her job. there are millions of men that can’t handle a professional and pretty woman b/c they’re too gaga-eyed, and women shouldn’t have to hide themselves or their feminity to compensate for the male species’ inability to take sex out of the equation. this woman (the toronto reporter) is no better than those men. if erin were flashing nipple or crotch, that’s one thing- but she’s not. she’s wearing entirely appropriate dancewear and performing in an athletic competition. if that jealous narrow-minded stone-aged woman from toronto doesn’t get that, that’s her problem. but i’m really tired of those types of women purporting to stand for women’s rights, when the only women they want to stand up for are ones they are not intimidated or threatened by. that woman clearly is threatened b/c erin is NOT a bimbo and can do her job and be pretty at the same time.
