Would you go on the cover of a national magazine or appear in a major magazine without makeup or retouching?
Well, Hollywood’s bravest stars are breaking through the All-Glammed -Up barrier and are proudly showing off their faces and bodies au natural. And you know what… THEY LOOK FANTASTIC!
Jessica Simpson, 29, happily appears on the cover of May’s Marie Claire under the cover line – ” No Makeup, No Retouching, No Regrets. And they should have added – No Hair Styling to that list. The famous blonde wears her locks air-dried and says about her cover appearance – ” I don’t have anything to prove anymore. What other people think of me is not my business.” Clearly, traveling the world filming her VH-1 show, The Price of Beauty, has thankfully given Jess the confidence to let the world see her natural beauty.
Demi Moore, 47, has never looked better than she does in her glowing, makeup-less photos taken in the past few days in Haiti, where she’s joined Susan Sarandon, Gerard Butler, Olivia Wilde and Ben Stiller in Haiti, on behalf of Artists for Peace and Justice, a group working to rebuild the devastated country’s education system. The mom of three recently revealed that she truly believes her secrets to stopping the clock and staying beautiful are available to EVERY woman. “I think that laughter and smiling are one of the best antidotes to aging that you could possibly have.” It works for husband Ashton Kutcher, 32, who tweets ” Mrs Kutcher I wish I was with you” and ” I am so proud of my wife”.
Now Britney Spears, 28, appears to have released both the retouched and unretouched photos from her latest campaign for the Candie’s clothing collection. And what do we see- well – she looks pretty damn great in both versions. Unretouched she’s more muscular – I say that’s a good thing – she may have the tiniest touch of cellulite on the back of her thighs – who doesn’t?- AND a tattoo on her back disappears.
These aren’t the first stars to go unretouched or without makeup. Kim Kardashian appeared on the cover of Life & Style unretouched and proudly declared : ” I have cellulite, so what!” Jude Law‘s former wife, actress Sadie Frost, 44, appeared unretouched on British Grazia mag and former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins, 26, set off a stir when she went naked and unretouched on the cover of Australian Marie Claire.

Come on dudes. That’s so not makeup free. Miley has so much mascara/fake eyelashes on ! Demi Lovato, eyebrow owncil, pink lip stain, plus everyone of them is wearing face makeup! Nancy Grace pounds of makeup, Kendra, eye makeup, face makeup. All 46 photos theft are all wearing a bit of something. Dudes…wash and scrub your face…dry it…then take a no makeup picture.

LOL, Miley Cyrus had makeup on and Megan Fox had a lot of makeup on, and Britney Spears had a WHOLE lot of make-up on. Such a fail article. Anyway, I think Demi Lovato looks the best without Makeup out of all these photos.

i saw lea michele in NY without makeup she is stunning, and saw demi lovato one year ago in LA she is beautiful.
they were with casual cloths and were beautiful and nice too.

I forgot to say what a TRAGEDY it is of what they have done to American Idol alum Katharine McPhee!!!!! So was so gorgeous with her long beautiful natural brown hair and light make up. She is a natural beauty, now Hollywood has turned her into just another Marilyn Monroe wannabe, it’s terrible.
I hope she wises up and goes back to her beautiful, original self. She looks fake and trashy now, and like all the other wannaabes. I respect artists that make their own decisions and stick with them, even if the “higher ups” tell them to do something else. As Audioslave says, “Be yourself it’s all that you can do”!
There are times when plastic surgery is needed such as a hairlip, etc. but in most cases it’s ridiculous. A doctor will tell you to have things done because why? he wants MONEY, that’s the only reason. Most girls are pretty without a bunch of goop on their faces and all this ridiculous plastic surgery is even worse! Be happy with that gap between your teeth, be happy with the mole on your face….Marilyn had one and it was Cindy Crawford’s trademark, what if she had gotten it removed? Often, Imperfection is perfection.
Feel proud of who you are and be yourself, enjoy the gifts that God has given you and play them up, use everything to your advantage and do what you are meant to do in life, let nothing stand in your way and do it while you are young so you will never have regrets!

I think it depends on the celebrity. I have ALWAYS thought Jessica Simpson actually looks BETTER with no make up. TRUE NATURAL BEAUTIES are few and far between. Jessica Alba and Halle Berry are two others I can think of that would still look good with no make-up. I don’t even think Jessica Simpson is gorgeous, she just looks better with no make up. That’s pretty rare, especially the ones who look BEAUTIFUL with no make up.
The pictures on here of Brittney Spears are ridiculous, are they supposed to be without make up? Because they are definitely not, unless she has tattooed eyeliner, etc. You can tell she has eye liner and mascara if nothing else.
I’m listening to Gavin Rossdale’s CD WANDERLUST and no one looks as good as he does for his age!

No make up should be rephrased to less makeup than they normally wear. Not 1 of these pictures is any of the girls with absolutely NO makeup. Demi has on eyeliner, mascara, concealer, etc. Jessica has on light makeup. It could be called th emore natural look but certainly not void of all makeup.

I think it’s great that these already beautiful stars are revealing themselves in a more natural manner. Everyone has flaws, so why does the industry need to hide the flaws of the celebrities? All that does is make men and women feel more insecure than they already are with themselves. I think this is a great movement and more celebrities should join in!

thank you kenog for referring to it as the “no makeup look” b/c it’s a look, not reality. yes, they have some makeup and/or eyelash extensions and/or eyelash dying, etc. tho, honestly, jessica simpson’s skin always looked perfect on her show and she’s young and healthy and i’d believe that she could get away with no makeup- unlike most. in any case, maybe we should call it glammed down instead… but, it does make us all feel better to see the flaws, but wouldn’t we rather see pretty things most of the time? what bugs me about the britney stuff is that she has this great athletic meaty frame (meaty by hollywood standards), and they always stretch her to look skinny. THAT does not look better and i could do without. retouching her skin though to make it look more perfect and smooth, i think that’s fine and i’d prefer it. but, don’t make her taller and thinner. her athletic build is such a refreshing change.

I, personally, love the no makeup look, Jessica Simpson looks so addorable, much better with out all that goop on her. I understand that makeup is a must for the entertainment industry, gotta keep giving out the lies.

sophia, i could not agree with you more! I work in the industry. all celebs in the ‘said’ photo’s ARE wearing makeup and have MINIMAL photoshop work done. i saw the jessica simpson spread on several sites and it is a joke everyone is saying she is wearing no makeup. when will viewers/readers take a stand on false grandiose statements such as what are being made. thanks sophia for speaking up!
