Cory was so shocked at being chosen to play Glee’s hunky football player Finn Hudson that he thought producers had made a mistake in casting him!
All we can say is, thank goodness you’re wrong about your singing abilities, Cory Monteith! The adorable Glee star was so baffled about being cast on the hit Fox show that he was counting down the seconds until producers gave him the boot!
“When they picked me for the past, I thought they were mistaken,” the 27-year-old tells Entertainment Tonight in an interview airing tonight, April 20. “I thought I was going to be swiftly recast and fired and deported [back to Canada]!”
He added, “Originally I played the Tupperware drums to show my musical abilities, but I had to ultimately sing for the final audition, so I had to figure out how to do that very last minute. I never did sing growing up, so it’s a change for me. I sang in the car, in the shower, but never for anyone. That’s scary.”
Hallelujah – you’re still here, Cory! And we bet your rumored love interest, Taylor Swift, is just as happy as we are!

Okay, you completely skipped over the part in the interview where he said “yeah I’m enjoying the single life, not that i have time because I’m so busy”. Get your facts straight.
