Kristen Stewart really is shy and insecure, even though she’s got an incredible acting career, including starring in the summer’s most anticipated release, Eclipse! Read on to find out what she told Flaunt about just how much self-doubt consumes her!
Under those slumped shoulders and often cold-glare eyes, Kristen Stewart is just as insecure as the rest of us — so she proves in an incredibly revealing new interview in Flaunt magazine.
The Twilight star tells Flaunt’s Gregg Lagambina that she was wracked with nerves before her latest film, The Runaways, debuted at Sundance. “I thought everyone would write shit reviews. I thought everyone was waiting, itching to say that I should just go back to Twilight. And no one said that. I put so much into it. I would have died working on that movie. So if they did say those bad things, then I might as well just stop now.”
Kristen also explains why — at least in her mind — she might come off as aloof and standoffish to others. “I get defensive and that has probably perpetuated people’s idea of me never smiling. I kind of shake my leg too, so people think I’m always uncomfortable.”
As for how she makes her film choices, K suggests it’s all just instinct: “Who knows what you’re going to connect with and then be able to live up to? I can’t just read a script and say it’s great because there’s a part for me, my age, perfect—I can’t live that life. You know what I mean? That’s just not me.”
And she takes us deep into how fame has changed her: “Yeah, I definitely act differently. I’m definitely overcoming a lot of it. The only insecurity I’ve developed is just being overly paranoid about everyone looking at you when they’re not.”

lol… who is “you guys”?! did anyone say it besides me? over-react much? but, i wouldn’t like it anymore from rob than i would from kristin. i mean, seriously, does she even smoke? if she does, too bad. if she doesn’t, lame to do a fake pose smoking. if you’re cool, you don’t have to prove it with a cigarette. i don’t have a problem with k-stew. but, i do disagree with the choice to shoot her with a butt in her hand. period. sorry you can’t deal with that, but that’s life.
I would say she way over judged her reviews. I read every review out there and I never got the green light from any critic. Lots of them said they were surprised and she pulled off the hard lesbian act, but we see that attitude all the time. Where was she acting! It’s good this doesn’t bother her because I see a career ending within 2-3 years. Thank the movie Gods for that!
First of all she is not a teen she is old enough to make hear own descions. Thats why we live in the land of the free. Twilight books are very young adults not teens. I think kstew look wonderful in the pics keep up the good work. Teens should be watching the disney channel not a 20 yr old. Kristen you are coming out of your teens and i think it is great that you have a rock side to you go for it. Look forward to reading the interview and seen a different side to you wish you the best of luck!

gbtw, It is all a part of image. I thought she was 20? Whatever age she is, as long as she is over 18, she can make her own decisions. Not every teenager looks up to her, because she evidently tried to appeal to a different audience rather than 13 year old kids who will copy everything the celebrities will do.
But, You are right, promoting smoking is a big thumbs down for not just teenagers and teen idols, but america itself.
Smoking is horrible and a real waste for an early death. It’s disgusting.

don’t like that she’s shown smoking. she’s too big of a teen idol to be suggesting to that crowd that smoking is cool. yes, i’m an old prude, but- i still think it’s bad and i wish mags/movies and such would just cut that stuff when it’s not absolutely necessary. (not necessary for that photo, IMO.)
