The same day Halle Berry‘s split from baby daddy Gabriel Aubry, 34, went public, Gabriel released a statement through his agency, Wilhelmina Models. “I am sad to say that Halle and I have decided together to separate at this time,” he said Apr. 30. “She is, and will forever be one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to have only love and respect for one another.” Sorry, Gabriel, but calling her “ONE OF the most special and beautiful people” you’ve ever known just isn’t going to cut it!
Seriously, “one of?” How many other women did you have in mind when you wrote this statement? Considering it was speculated that you ended things with Halle, 43, to pursue other women, don’t you think you should have been a little more careful with your words? Whether or not that was the real reason behind the split, you should have figured people would carefully analyze every letter of your statement.
Fortunately, you did manage to thoughtfully address your and Halle’s daughter, Nahla: “We have been blessed with the most amazing daughter in the world, and her happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us,” you wrote.

Lame? LAME? You’re getting bent out of shape over him using “one of” in his statement? Did it ever cross your mind that he might be referring to his mother, or a sister if he has one, or an aunt, or a female cousin? You’re REALLY reading too much into this statement. Lay off the man. The only thing lame is your stupid comment. Are you that hard-up for “drama”? Couples break up and not all break-ups are because of drama. Save the “drama” for PerezHilton and stick to the facts already!

Gabriel is just being honest about it so there is no misunderstandings, he wants to keep a good relationship because of the child, its not lame but natural….to talk nice – not talking bad…..try it!

I agree with Ellen. This article is just an example of how gossip sites try to make everything sensational even though this is simply a person trying to make a nice statement in order to avoid unnecessary speculation.
Age difference, in my opinion, has nothing to do with it. People in different age groups date, marry and divorce just like people who are similar in age. Who knows what goes on in each relationship; Halle seems to be bouncing back pretty well (based on photos with new companion) – lets not all assume that it was Gabriel who ended the relationship.

I saw this coming. Extreme age differences in relationships, especially when the woman is older than the man, seldom ever work. Especially in Hollywood, where a younger guy might be easily tempted by other eye candy.
Sucks it didn’t work, but let’s hope he continues to be an involved parent. Even though it’s kind of sad that he couldn’t see the relationship through, at least he was honest and didn’t go prowling around behind Halle’s back.

Agree! Too many people read into ‘every single word’ and make a big deal out of it. At least he was honest or at least he said the ‘right thing’. Who but the two of them really knows what happened but he chose to be ‘respectful’ of Halle and his child. I commend him for that.
