Jordin Sparks is making her Broadway debut this summer in the Tony and Grammy-award winning show In the Heights!
From the small screen to the big stage, Jordin Sparks is the latest American Idol alum to tap into her more dramatic roots and star in a Broadway show.
“It’s always been one of my dreams to perform on Broadway,” Jordin, 20, said about her debut as the character Nina Rosario in In the Heights. “This is a brand new experience for me. I look so forward to spending time in New York City and joining this talented cast and my favorite new musical.”
Other former contestants that have also starred on Broadway include Taylor Hicks in Grease, Ace Young in Hair, Dianna DeGarmo in Hair, Fantasia in The Color Purple, Constantine Maroulis in Rock of Ages and Clay Aiken in Spamalot.
Jordin joins the show starting Aug. 19 and will play a limited 12-week engagement through Nov. 14.
