Miley, we know you want to distance yourself from your squeaky clean Hannah Montana image — but you’re going TOTALLY overboard!
Baby steps, Miley Cyrus! You’re getting older and you want us to take you more seriously as a woman… but you do a total 180 in your new video “Can’t Be Tamed” and it feels seriously forced. For crying out loud, new episodes of Hannah Montana are still on the air. While we like the concept of your video (the public definitely does watch you like a creature on display in a museum) you really need to tone down the sex-factor!
The knee-high boots, pole dancing and grinding in a pile of people (we couldn’t help but think of Britney Spears‘ “Slave 4 U” video) is a little shocking — but not in the way you wanted it to be. You’re clearly ready to shed your good-girl image, but doing all at once like this makes you look silly.
Miley’s full album Can’t Be Tamed hits stores June 22 … and we can’t wait to see what other edgy new material she has in store for us!

I’m seeing this as a mother and as a fan,here.I kind-of agree with the reporter that she’s trying too hard to be sexy. The clothing in the video was ok. It didn’t reveal too much,just made her look as if she had legs up to her neck-LOL-but that’s ok,too,it’s a fashion trend for every woman,not just the stars. If I was talking to Miley right now,I would say: “Miley, honey, saying good-bye to hannah Montanah is one thing, but exploring new waters in the music industry is another. A lot of people out there are way too critical. They can either make you or distroy you. A couple of perfect examples are Brittney Spears, and Lindsey Lohan.You don’t need big hair and thick make-up to look sexy. Just be yourself,and if you want to where sexy clothing, go for the look that says:”I’m growing up,I have sex appeal,but I’m not a whore” be careful sweetheart”

In this day and age, this type of video is not shocking. Even for a 17 year old. I like the over all look of the video but she looks like she’s trying to hard to be sexy. It just looks forced and unnatural. It’s like Kate from DWTS’s. Trying to hard to be something your just not ready for.

What was the big deal? She does not compare to anyone but herself. There was nothing in the video that was too revealing. Why are people so afraid of “change” some are sooooo worried that their daughters will want to do the same types of things, then it’s up to the parents to control and not put blame on the stars actions and choices!

that was awesome!!! dont even compare Miley to Britney Spears, Miley actually has talent! Britney just knows how to breathe into the microphone and flash her privates in public. Very creative video, very exotic. Miley is an artist. and she’s almost 18 so stop comparing her to Hannah Montana, she’s not a Disney star anymore. look at Hilary Duff, she was stuck as Lizy Mguire for so long, but then her music videos got sexier and edgier and she’s great, i love Hilary Duff! keep doing your thing Miley, you rock girl!!!

I feel like I watched Britney Spears.
It’s not a bad video, I actually like it a lot. It would fit better if she was in her young 20′s, not 17.

Behind the public image that has been created by publicists etc. she has been “grown-up” for quit some time. Before snagging Billy Ray, her mother chased musicians so the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.
