Simon Cowell let it slip that his pal Ryan may be making a move from host to judge on Fox’s smash hit show!

We’ve heard Harry Connick Jr., Howard Stern and even Justin Bieber as suggestions for Simon Cowell’s coveted Idol throne — but after hearing the cranky British judge’s latest ‘oops’ comment, we think current Idol host Ryan Seacrest may just be his replacement!

While hanging out backstage with his latest Brit boy band, JLS, on the CBS lot of Idol May 18,  Simon, 50, asked Ryan to judge the group’s talent. “If this was an audition for what possibly could happen with you on the show next year,” Simon started, finishing, “We spoke about this!”

Whoa. Could this actually happen? We think it would be a great idea all around. Fox already has Ryan, 35, signed to a contract, people are familiar with him on the show and respect his opinion. So many people have wanted a replacement for Simon’s brutal honesty, but maybe it’s smarter to get someone who is completely opposite — who knows what he’s talking about but still makes the contestants feel good about themselves. And who better to do that than Ryan Seacrest?

I agree – the show will never be the same without Simon and Seacrest in Simons place is not the answer – anyway, who would do Ryan’s spot then and his spot would never be the same without him in it – so there you go…..just cancel IDOL.

If Simon’s not on it, I think the show should end after this season. It just won’t be the same without someone being brutally honest.

Should NOT replace Simon with anybody.
With out his “Brutal Honesty” …American Idol is not going to be as exciting and as it is today…. and who would you rather to hear??? To have a judge telling you that you are the best singer but you actually SUCK! and get yourself humiliated for being talentless OR digest the critics from him positively and get humiliated for a day and come when you are done with self improvement and show it to the world!

The fact is …. TRUTH IS HURT!!
