Jail Is Exactly What Lindsay Lohan Needs
Lindsay Lohan is a young lady who is immune to wake up calls. Arrests, rehab, alienation from her friends, family and Hollywood movie studios…nothing seems to get Lindsay to clean up her act.
Now that a warrant is out for Lindsay’s arrest, for failing to return from the Cannes Film Festival to Los Angeles for a mandatory court hearing, maybe Linds will have to spend some time in the slammer. Serious time. And maybe that is exactly what she needs.
Lindsay claims she was unable to make it back from the South of France because she lost her passport while attending the Film Festival there.
According to TMZ Lindsay claimed that someone stole her passport in Cannes, and she was denied when attempting to board her flight back to Los Angeles Tuesday. She said she intended to meet with the US Embassy Thursday morning to receive a new passport.
However, RadarOnline reports that Lohan never applied to get a new passport.
Judge Marsha Revel has put Lindsay’s bail at $100,000 and laid out conditions that the actress must follow if she wants to stay out of jail.
After posting bail, Lindsay will have to wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet, called a SCRAM, and undergo random drug testing once a week. She’ll also be barred from drinking alcohol until a formal probation hearing. If Lindsay doesn’t comply she could end up in jail for 180 days.
But if Lindsay keeps blowing off the judge, there is no reason that Revel will show her any mercy. And maybe at this point mercy isn’t what Lindsay needs. What she needs is a “Don’t Get Out Of Jail Free” card.
Lindsay has gotten plenty of passes for her bad behavior. Lindsay is currently on probation for two drunk driving arrests from 2007. On August 23, 2007, Lohan pleaded guilty to cocaine use and driving under the influence and was sentenced to one day imprisonment. She served only 84 minutes of jail time. Lindsay has been so difficult during her probation period that last year it was extended for another year.
She has attended rehab three times, but seems to have lapsed back into her old behavior, staying out late, falling down at parties and throwing drinks at people.
Since dealing with Lindsay with a soft hand hasn’t changed her behavior jail time could be the only thing left to save this talented young actress’ career and her life.

I have a daughter that is 2 years older than Lindsay and I must say that this is more than just sad. This young lady was not only lovely but talented. I say ‘was’ because unfortunately the ‘Hollywood Lifestyle’ has robbed her of her individuality by making her an incoherent mess of drugged emotion. It ISN’T cool nor hip—-it’s pathetic…

Jail is not the answer to anyone problems. Jail only causes more problems for the ones that have to go. For her I would have her doing manual labor projects. Let her feed the homeless, cook several hundred meals and lets see if she still has the energy to party then. A little old fashion WORK would straighten out that girl. Jail she would have a private cell, sleep till noon or later, talk on the phone till dinner and watch television till the wee hours. That’s not punishment, that’s a vacation. Besides she can get the good drugs in jail, have them delivered I bet. Let her sweat, get dirty and do something to help out the community. I would love to see her working in a nursing home, moppin’ up, changing bed sheets and maybe a stroll out to the garden with a patient or two. That would look good on the old facebook page.

Had this been a normal every day citizen, they would have already been locked up and probation revoked, period. I’m not sure about the laws regarding probation in her state, but in Texas there is no bond for probation violation. You stay in jail until a revocation hearing which could take up to 1-2 months.

seems to me judge revel is the only one looking out for lindsay these days. kudos to her for taking these steps to protect lindsay from herself. i only hope the judge actually follows through with it all, and doesn’t let any lawyer talk her out of it. an alcohol bracelet and weekly drug testing is EXACTLY what lindsay needs. let’s see if she ever comes back to the country with those conditions in place. with her credit, she’ll probably have no choice but to get her broke arse home. and, when was this picture taken? she is always looking so AWFUL lately- her aura, and her actual looks. foo.
