No camera crews at the Gosselin house this past weekend — PHEW! The eight little ones got to spend the weekend with their mom but dad was no where to be found!
Kate Gosselin, 35, you win mommy of the year! You spent the long, relaxing, Memorial Day weekend with your eight little Gosselins AND there wasn’t ONE camera or boom mic in sight! But daddy, Jon G, 33, was M.I.A as usual!
Kate and the kids played out in the sun during the three-day weekend and even took a dip in the pool! At one point on May 30, when the kids were done riding around in their motorized toy cars, Kate assembled her little crew in the garage for a fun Memorial Day surprise! They marched out a few minutes later each holding miniature American flags! How adorable!
“Kate told the kids around 1 o’clock that it was time to finish up playing and they disappeared into the garage,” says our source. “But then all of a sudden they walked out holding little flags and stuck them all of the front yard. They loved it!”
One of Kate’s twin girls, Cara, 10, even convinced her mom to let her go to a slumber party! Cara, was picked up Sunday afternoon and then came back on Memorial Day!
But WAIT … where was their dad Jon Gosselin? He didn’t stop by once during the entire weekend! Instead, Jon spent his long weekend in Harrisburg, PA, with his new 23-year-old GF, Ellen Ross. The two were holed up in Ellen’s apartment and, we’re told, stepped out to do some shopping at the local Capital City Mall.
Not only was Jon not there, Kate never has any relatives over! Kate is estranged from her parents and brother AND she doesn’t have very many friends. She spends most of her time with her bodyguard Steve Neild and his wife … but we’re sure the Gosselins wish they had a Grandma or Grandpa to spoil them!
Nevertheless, we’re so glad the little Gosselins got some private TLC with their mom – it’s just such a shame their dad would rather chase women then spend time with them.

Just seems like your average divorced couple with kids. Only this time, there are 8 kids and all the press watch them. Seems like Kate is running off any adult contact that kids can have with family and relatives. Again, not all that uncommon during a messy break up.

Hellllloooo, Chloe!
Jon is not living at their home any longer. Did you know that he and Kate are DIVORCED? MY ex has his time with our son. If it falls on a holiday, so be it. If not (as in this case apparently), he gets him when it is HIS visitation time. Geeeez, don’t make it look like he abandons the kids, just because Kate is all alone. It’s HER time with them, NOT his.
As far as winning Mommy of the Year (GAG!), does that mean that because I don’t have tons of cameras around while I spend time with my son, I am too? She is doing what mothers SHOULD do. Stay home and spend SOME quality time with their kids.
