Betty White is destroyed by the death of her good pal Rue McClanahan

Betty White misses her bestie Rue McClanahan, who passed away June 3 at 1 a.m. after a suffering a stroke on May 31.

“Rue was a close and dear friend. I treasured our relationship,” Betty told HollywoodLife.com after hearing about her friend’s death. “It hurts more then I ever thought it would, if that’s possible.”

The two women starred together on the long-running sitcom Golden Girls from 1985 to 1992. Rue played cougarific sexpot Blanche Devereaux, while Betty portrayed ditzy Minnesota widow Rose Nylund. Betty, 88, is the only remaining Golden Girl. Bea Arthur (Dorothy) died after battling cancer last year last and Estelle Getty (Sophia) died from natural causes in 2008.

I have yet to read a single Hollywood Life article that does not contain at least one error. It makes me wonder if HL only hires high school dropouts as writers. “…after a suffering a stroke…” and “…after battling cancer last year last and…” are examples of poor writing or horrific editing.

    I agree wholeheartedly.
It makes reading very difficult and some how makes me feel like “I” have an impediment ‘of sorts’.
I think it is a combination of crappy writing and poor editing. It’s the, ‘let’s just get it out there folks’ mentality. If two idiots can’t find the mistakes…
