The verdict is UNANIMOUS from the Twi-hard packed audience and yes from myself- Eclipse eclipses both Twilight and New Moon on both a human, emotional level and as an on-edge action film!

For the first time we get to spend quality time getting to know Jacob, Edward and Bella on a deeper, less platitudinous level. We especially get close to the maturing, stunningly handsome and ever-more-wolf-like Jacob, as he fights to wrench Bella’s heart away from tortured Edward.

We delve deeper into Edward’s early 20th century soul and psyche and what a relief: Kristen Stewart’s Bella is finally moving out of both awkward outsider and depressed, abandoned love victim mode.

It’s fascinating to get glimpses into the pre- and early vampire live of Cullen “siblings” Jasper and Rosalie.

The intense tent scene between Jacob and Edward will leave you as torn as Bella between Team Jacob and Team Edward .And speaking about chemistry — the Bella, Edward, Jacob love triangle is more intense than ever, no doubt helped along hugely by the real life closeness of R-Patz, K-Stew and Taylor Lautner.

I admit though that there’s one long-awaited Bella/Jacob scene that must have felt more than a little awkward for the real-life besties.

You’ll see that it’s a relief to get away from the focus on Forks High School life as Bella MUST obsessively contemplate her huge life decision ahead as well as deal with the enormous danger to herself and all her loved ones.

The mountaineous West vistas are more gorgeous than ever and a perfect backdrop to the dramatic action scene that is geared thankfully to true Twilight fans. We’re not about gore and blowing things up, thank you very much, but the Cullen and werewolf action is mesmerizing.

So get ready to settle in for two hours of pure pleasure that will just leave you hungry for Breaking Dawn 1 and 2. Oh no … how long do we have to wait?
