Bristol Palin & Levi Johnston Are Engaged — Again! Will It Last This Time?

They’re getting married soon, and she’s taking his name. Too bad she says mom Sarah Palin doesn’t approve!

On-again, off-again lovers Bristol Palin, 19, and Levi Johnston, 20, are engaged for the second time, Us Weekly is reporting. “It felt right,” Bristol says of the huge decision, “even though we don’t have the approval of our parents.” She says they officially became engaged two weeks ago, after reconnecting three months ago in the midst of battling for custody of their 18-month-old son, Tripp.

And who knew Levi was so romantic? Bristol tells the mag her baby daddy sprinkled rose petals onto her bed in the shape of a heart. He placed the engagement ring in a box in the center of the heart.

And BFFs, you’re finding out about Bristol and Levi’s engagement at the same time Bristol’s mom, Sarah Palin, is! She’s just as surprised as all of you to read the big story and learn of her daughter’s plans. She released this statement upon hearing the news:

“Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what’s best for our children,” Sarah and Todd Palin say in a statement released to the Today Show. “Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives.”

Hm… pretty cryptic, Sarah.

Levi and Bristol originally had plans to marry while Sarah was running for Vice President of the United States, but called off their engagement in March 2009.
