It’s been a non-stop Idol shockwave today! Not only are judges Ellen and Kara completely OUT, but there also could be two NEW judges — J. Lo & Steven Tyler!
HollywoodLifers, meet your new American Idol judges panel! In the past 24 hours, we’ve learned that Ellen DeGeneres is bowing out of her two-year contract AND she’s being replaced by the gorgeous and talented Jennifer Lopez! We definitely believe that J. Lo needs this career boost but we’re totally overwhelmed by all this Idol news!
Simon Cowell’s departure came as no surprise, as he announced it more than a year ago, but who would replace him has been the topic of conversation. Based on earlier reports and rumors, we thought it might be Harry Connick Jr, or even Bret Michaels. BUT Deadline.com is reporting that Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will be filling his shoes!
Fortunately (for now) one Idol judge remains — good ol’ Randy Jackson. We are curious to see if he will be around come next season, but considering all the recent shakeups, you never know!

don’t taunt me with thinking we’re rid of kara… her contract is up, but that doesn’t mean she’s done does it? if it does, lemme know- i’ll be hosting a party. that said, i’m not really feeling these two judge selections. but, i don’t think there is anyone that could replace simon- so, i’m not saying i have better ideas. i think j.lo. is a good pick- but aerosmith/tyler? on the one hand it’s cool to have a rocker on the panel, but on the other, who is replacing simon? tyler can’t be the boss. j.lo. would think she was the boss, but i’m not seeing her as one. maybe there is still a BIG kingpin lurking for the #4 spot?
