Chelsea Clinton Wedding Photos & New Ceremony Details! Her Wedding Gown, Who Turned Up & All The Details From Rhinebeck!
Congratulations, Chelsea! You finally tied the knot to your long-time beau…and your parents say the ceremony was perfect!
It’s official…Chelsea‘s hitched! Former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton released a statement saying their daughter, Chelsea, officially wed her long-time beau, Marc Mezvinsky, in front of 400 family members and friends in a ceremony in Rhinebeck, NY July 31.
“Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends,” Bill and Hillary wrote in the statement.
“We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day.”
- One guest told the New York Post, that for the first dance, Chelsea and her dad danced to the Frank Sinatra ballad “The Way You Look Tonight,” noting that the former president was “teary-eyed” throughout the dance.
- Chelsea and new husband Marc meanwhile took to the floor and performed a choreographed version of “Feeling Good” — choreographed by Dancing with the Stars‘ Maksim Chmerkovskiy!
- Jim Valli and his band were among the entertainment for the evening.
- The vegan cake from La Tulipe Desserts in Mt. Kisco was apparently chocolate, though an actual photo has yet to be released of the creation. It was 11 tiers and is said to have cost around $11,000.
- For her reception, Chelsea changed into a silk tulle Grecian Vera Wang gown with criss cross back and a narrow grosgrain black belt according to Us Weekly.
- Guests walked away with a gift bag that included a bottle of wine from the nearby Clinton Vineyards as well as a box of chocolates, pastries from the local Wild Hive Farm Store, and Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment.
- The dinner, catered by the St. Regis Hotel in New York, included short ribs, Atlantic char, a vegetarian option, and gluten-free rolls
- Bill gave a toast saying that ever since his daughter had been old enough to formulate a thought, he had “been outnumbered” in his household, two to one. Now, with a son-in-law, he said, “the playing field is even. I have someone else on my side.”
- Marc also gave an emotional speech about his love for Chelsea and at the end looked directly into her eyes ignoring the rest of the room. Even Bill was brought to tears.
- Also emotional, Chelsea dropped the ring while saying her vows with Marc!
- The star-studded guest list included Mary Steenburgen, former secretary of state Madeleine Albright, actor Ted Danson, film producer Steven Bing, and a handful of congressmen and other prominent Democrats,” reports People. Chelsea’s dress designer, Vera Wang, was also in attendance as were Burberry designer Christopher Bailey and Tribeca Film Festival head Jane Rosenthal.
- Chelsea wore a strapless organza gown by Vera, estimated to cost between $20,000 – $25,000, and her brides were also decked out by the famed bridal designer. The 12 bridesmaids dresses were allegedly bridal dresses, according to the Washington Post, dyed a “plummy color” for the ceremony. Chelsea carried gardenias for her walk down the aisle.
- Bill, as had been mentioned, did indeed lose the weight his daughter asked him to, shedding what some say is as much as 25 pounds.
- As for the men, they all wore Burberry. In following with tradition, Marc wore a tallit (Jewish prayer shawl) and yarmulke.
- Hillary was in one of her favorites, Oscar de la Renta, and DC hairdresser Isabelle Goetz did her softer and blonder locks for the evening. Her dress is estimated to have cost around $15,000.
- The flower covered chuppah is estimated to have cost between $35,000 and $45,000.
- The flowers were roses and hydrangeas, in a purple/pink/blue color.
- As for rumored guests Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Streisand, and Steven Spielberg, they were nowhere to be found.
- The interfaith ceremony was conducted by Rabbi James Ponet and the Reverend William Shillady. Chelsea is Methodist and Marc is Jewish.
- A friend read the Leo Marks poem “The Life that I Have” to the couple : The life that I have / Is all that I have / And the life that I have / Is yours / The love that I have / Of the life that I have / Is yours and yours and yours. / A sleep I shall have / A rest I shall have / Yet death will be but a pause / For the peace of my years / In the long green grass / Will be yours and yours and yours.
- The flowers were designed by Jeff Leatham, artistic director of Four Seasons George V hotel in Paris, the St. Regis catered the reception and the wedding was planned by Bryan Rafanelli, who previously worked on Hillary’s fundraisers in 2008.
- The four foot tall wedding cake had nine-tiers and was sponge cake with chocolate mouse in between and glutten free. Made by La Tulipe Desserts it took 48 hours straight to complete and have over one thousand sugar flowers.
- DJ Mia Moretti and violinist Caitlin Moe were among those providing the entertainment for the evening.
- The Daily Beast reports that the newlyweds spent the night at The Pierre hotel in New York City on Sunday night before departing for their honeymoon.
- Madeleine Albright was reportedly the last to leave the dance floor.
- Two of Marc’s brothers (he is one of 11), Andrew “Drew” Mezvinsky and Vu Pham were his best men.
- Chelsea and Marc, Hillary and Bill, and Marc’s parents Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky and Edward Mezvinsky all participated in the traditional hora.
- Guests had to wear special wristbands to board the bus to the ceremony and reception, which went until 4:30 am.
- Guests were forced to hand over cameras and cell phones for the evening to ensure no photos were taken.
- Guests attended a family style brunch Sunday morning before heading out of the scenic town.
Now it’s time for the newlyweds to head out on their honeymoon, the destination of which is, of course, still a mystery!

Considering that you’re so tired of hearing about the wedding you sure have spent a lot of time responding. So what if you don’t like her dress, it’s hers not yours and apparently it’s what SHE wanted. So what if you don’t care for her parents, that’s your opinion and you don’t speak for everyone. But I will say one thing – if you spent more time off the internet and in school learning how to spell maybe someone would take your comments seriously.
just my opinion

for the record being handsome or beautiful is not the most important quality in a human being. Kindness, compassion and many other qualities remain long after beauty fades. and every bride is beautiful with the radiance of love on her wedding day. It is just a bit patronizing to say someone is a beautiful or handsome person when clearly they are not..Most humans are not and know it so I think it is offensive to say someone is when that is untrue. It contributes to the overemphasis on all things superficial…why not speak of qualities that are real and true..that she is an intelligent, accomplished young woman who has maintained enormous dignity in the face of many daunting challenges and remains to this day a lady.

If it weren’t for the political influence he is marrying into, I doubt she’d have a husband. At least not on looks. If not for the secret service, she probably would have been picked up by an animal control officer by now. Whoever said all brides are beautiful never got a look at C.C.
