Emma Roberts showed off quite the controversial hair and makeup look at the Teen Choice Awards, did you love it or totally hate it?

The Teen Choice Awards on August 8 were packed with really pretty hair and makeup looks with one noticeable exception: Emma Roberts. The actress, who’s currently starring in the movie Twelve alongside Chace Crawford, debuted a new, much darker hair color at the awards.

She coupled this deep dark brown hue with super pale skin, equally pale lips and copper shadow that encircled her eyes. For me, the look is in one word: harsh. It does her pretty, young face no justice. I think she looks far too severe and extremely washed out. What do you think though?
